A Double Shocker

Tyler’s girlfriend, Courtney, works at a movie theater, which means she has to work lots of weekends.  She had to work last night, and Tyler and I decided we’d try to go to the movies to see the new “Night at the Museum” movie that just came out.  I haven’t even seen the first one yet, but we thought it would be fun to go.

Somehow, I twisted David’s arm talked David into going with us.  Dave is not a movie person.  He doesn’t watch them at the movies or at the house.  So, both my kids were shocked and amazed that he actually went.  If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook, you saw my Tweet about being at the movies.  Can you believe that was the first movie Dave’s gone to with me since “Dying Young”… and that came out in 1991!!

And the other shocker? That my 20 year old son wouldn’t be too embarrassed to go to a Saturday night (7:00 PM) movie with his parents!!! I wouldn’t trade my boys for the world!! Have I mentioned how blessed I am??

Well, I'm happy for you that they both went with you.

We saw that movie this afternoon. I LOVED it just as much as my kids did. What did you think?

What a fun night!

I SO hope that Rhett will go to movies with me when he's 20!!!! That's encouraging to me! R told me today that "when he's as big as Daddy, he'll come and visit me every Sunday". I said, "Oh, could you maybe come during the week, too?" He answered, "I probably will have a lot of other things to do." :)

How cool is that! I am so glad you got to go with Tyler and David. Did you like the movie? The 1st one was cute. I haven't been to see this one.

I wondered if this was a good movie, is it? I didn't see the first one either but wanted to.

I actually taped "Night At The Museum" on TV last night and started watching it, but got sleepy and had to turn it off. I figured I'd watch it first and then we'll probably go see the new one! My son gave us a gift card to the theater for our anniversary and we have been waiting on something that was worth seeing!

Thank you so much for your sweet comment on my blog this morning. I have missed staying in touch with you. I hope that both of our lives slow down a little so that we can have time to catch up with each other!

Happy Memorial Day, sweet friend!

I had to laugh at Jamie's comment about Rhett! How funny!!

Dave is about as bad as we are about going to the movies. We usually go once a year...maybe! Hollywood would go completely broke if it depended on our money!! har (I'm sure they worry about that)

Some of my favorite times have been going to the movies with my grown kids! I'll never forget seeing "Sleepless in Seattle" with K and C and all of us crying!

Jacquie,
So did you like the movie? I haven't seen the first one yet either. But this one really looks funny. Dak said the first one was really good.

I, as well, am not really a movie buff. I have my fav's, and I like to go once in a while, but I don't like all the language. It just really bothers me and you never know which movies will have bad language. The last movie we saw was the new Star Trek movie for Mother's Day. It was really good. but it had a REALLY bad word in it ~~ BAD!!! I don't know why they even have to put it in there. It'd be just as good without it.
anyway...

Okay so longest comment ever is closing now =)

Have a Blessed evening,
Dawn
