Wedding Day Recap in A Nutshell

Woke early.

Enjoyed omelet – courtesy of Dave.

Last minute errands.

Chatted with Kayla on the phone before her hair/makeup appointment.

Relaxed in front of TV.

Feeling calm and proud of all we had accomplished.

Kale comes home – just chillin’.

One hour until photo session - about to get dressed.

Phone call from Kayla.

Both hairstyles - a DISASTER. Kayla is distraught.

Frantic phone calls… Kay, my wonderful hairdresser, comes to the rescue.

Kayla is happy again.

We all make it to the church for photos about 30 minutes late.

Button falls off Kale’s tux jacket.

Wedding begins ON SCHEDULE (did you notice Brother Steve?)

Wedding was BEAUTIFUL!!

Yes, I cried.

Head to reception - major caterer disaster.

I freak out. Start making punch. (BTW, chocolate coffee punch was the crowd favorite.)

After what seems like forever… food is served.  SORRY guests! We really do love you.

Kale and Kayla off to their mini-honeymoon destination… and off to begin their lives together. Smiling all the way.

The day certainly had it’s tense moments.  But, the kids are just as married and all is well.

I want to thank everyone who helped us: Jodi and Gary (who stayed to clean until 10 PM, they also helped us so much setting up); Steve, Judy, Kelly, Joe and Libby for getting the church put back together for Sunday services; Carla (Dave’s sister) and Ray X. for helping the caterer.

Thank you, Steve, for all the years you’ve been there for our family.  It is a huge blessing for you to marry our “baby” after all these years.

Thank you, Lord, for blessing our son with a beautiful girl, inside and out, to spend his life with and for blessing David and me with a daughter.

We have much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving week!

I am so happy for your family. All of those disasters aren't funny now, but years later you might look back and laugh. I did with mine. There always has to be something. It sounds like you have wonderful friends who came to the rescue. I have some friends like that too. I can't wait to see pictures.

Yay! I'm so sorry about the little things that put bumps in the road, but it sounds like it was still a WONDERFUL day! I can't wait to see pictures! Congratulations. You all are so blessed!

Every wedding has tense moments! And trust on this one. Like Kelley said you will look back and laugh out loud about it. Everytime we look at Cortney's wedding video I crack up at the little flower girl who we thought was going to set the church on fire. I don't think I even breathed during the ceremony for fear she was going to pull the candles over!!! Know I crack up everytime we talk about it!!

I'm sure everything was fabulous and I can't wait to see pictures!!!!

I'm glad everything turned out well in the end! I guess every wedding has a few glitches. I know Kale and Kayla are so happy. What a wonderful weekend!!

Having known Kale for most of his young life, it was truly a privilege to officiate at his wedding. It has been quite a journey from holding him in my arms when he was just a little boy as I stood in the pulpit, to seeing him in the arms of his bride on his wedding day. Bless you, Jacquie and Dave for "training him in the way he should go."

Jacquie, The wedding was JUST beautiful and I kept thinking this is just what Kayla wanted...very dreamy and romantic!!

Don't worry about the things that went wrong....if you only knew all the ones that went wrong at our wedding when the preacher called me a different name....and here we are almost 40 years later...still married, happily, I might add!! You'll have to ask Steve for his opinion, of course!! har

So glad you pulled it off and everyone is happy! Wish them all the very best! Weddings are seldom ever pulled off without a hitch...at mine the door swung back and close on me as I was trying to walk through it lol! I'm sure Kale looked handsome and Kayla beautiful and I'm so happy for them!
