128 – Home Again

Back Camera

Just before leaving for the airport, I turned around in the back seat of Kale’s car and snapped this last photo of all three of my kids.  I have looked forward to this weekend for about three months now and, for me, the hardest part is always saying goodbye.  Why, oh why, is Houston not just an hour away? I’d be one happy girl if it was.

We left just in the knick of time this morning as Tropical Storm Hermine was making it’s way in to Texas.  Just as we were taxiing down the runway, the wind started to really pick up and there was lightning around us.  Kale said we probably would’ve been delayed if we hadn’t got off the ground when we did because it got really stormy there right after we took off. (I did much better on the flight home, by the way.)

And Izzy was sure glad to see us when we got to the kennel.  She’s had a bath and seems happy to be home again…. ya think?

That's a great picture!! I hate saying goodbye, too. I am dreading Friday so much! I wish you could be closer to your kids.

That's a neat picture that really captured the moment. I got teary-eyed when I read K's comment about feeling down as soon as y'all drove away...I know that feeling :( it still happens every time I leave the driveway of my parents' house. And now that I have kids and I look in the mirror and see Rhett wiping away tears, well it's really heartbreaking! So glad y'all got to spend a wonderful weekend together (minus the food-poisoning--yuck!). Christmas will be here in no time (and that actually stresses me out a little bit!) Glad you're home safely. I'm sure Izzy was so happy!

Izzy is probably happier to be home than you guys. Glad you made it safely before Hermine took over.
