351–My Developing Phobia

041811
I used to LOVE going to Walmart. But, for some reason in the last six months or so, I just absolutely dread going.  It’s not Walmart, in particular, but shopping for groceries. Here are some of my reasons:
  • It takes a sweet forever to get in and get out.
  • You can never find everything you went in for.  (They stock something long enough for you to get dependent on it and then they yank it from the shelf.)
  • You run in for a thing or two and leave with a cart load.
  • You ALWAYS forget something.
  • Plastic bags.  Enough said.
  • From start to finish – you handle an item SIX times. Count ‘em… 1) Off the shelf into the cart.  2) Out of the cart onto the conveyor.  3) Move back into the cart.  4) Move from cart to trunk.  5) Move from trunk to kitchen.  6) Finally put it away!
  • Once you’re done, you realize you’ll have to do it again in a week!
Am I the only one that feels that way???

I absolutely HATE going to Wal Mart! If you make me a list and drop me off, I will run in and get things for you. I have developed an in and out mentality, and have gotten pretty good at executing a quick trip! I usually make Stu go with me when he is here and we split up and meet again at the front. We make it like a race!

Grocery shopping is BY FAR my least favorite chore of all. While I'm thankful to have such easy access to food, and the ability to drive there myself to get it and pay for it...it still is just very unpleasant for me every time! And that's when I'm shopping by myself. Add the kids to the trip and I'm real close to crazy. I spend way too much money there--I just hate watching the ticket add up and up and up!

I hate to say it but I get "bored" shopping cause we have no choice but WM or Harps. One of my favorite things to do when we go to Dallas or a big city is to go to a neat grocery store! It's like going to Disneyland! Fresh Market or a store like that would be so much fun!

But I have to say I am thankful we have easy access to food and I shouldn't complain. Thank you Lord for what we have!

Well, at this stage in my life going to Walmart sans kids is a luxury. It's my alone time. :) HA!

I take my time, and walk up and down each aisle. BUT, I totally understand your point. There are some days I want to scream.

I hate it when they are out of stock of an item. But you know what, I worked at the Walmart Home Office for 6yrs and keeping 3500 stores instock of an item is not easy. :) But it is frustrating not to get what you went there for!!

I would give anything to have other options besides Walmart (i.e. Kroger, Publix) but since I live 2miles from the home office, that's probably not going to happen :)

I nearly have a panic attack every time I go shopping, especially when I go to walmart!

I feel the exact same way. It is just exhausting. We always seem to forget something. Like trash bags. When I have both girls, we are our own zoo I tell ya.
