Valerie, my next older sister, is celebrating her 48th birthday today.
Val and I had such a rocky childhood together, it’s a wonder we’re as close as we are today. We used to fight and fight and fight. She had some serious fingernails that she’d dig into me when I made her mad.
But, after she got married and moved out of the house, we began to get along… really well. Sisters.
Valerie is #4 of the “Goulet 11”. She married David’s first cousin, so like me, her maiden name was Goulet and her married name is now Wallace. We ALWAYS get to see each other at family get-togethers. Ha! Her first son, Jeremiah, was born in 1981 and her second child, Hunter, was born in 1999!! She became a grandma and a mother again in the same year. Bless her heart.
Val is a great mother. She is very involved in school activities and Hunter’s sports. She’s also a great sister and friend.

I love seeing pictures of your family growing up!
Happy Birthday, Valerie!
I love seeing your pictures! Happy Birthday, Valerie! You have an awesome family Jacquie.
Why do kids waste their childhood fighting and then we love the fire outta each other and miss each other like crazy when we grow up! Doesn't make sense does it?
Hunter sure looks like his Mom, doesn't he??
Happy Birthday Valerie!
Happy birthday, Val!!!
Happy Birthday Val!
You've got a great sis!
Love and Prayers,
Tim
Hey Jacquie, my brother and I use to fight all the time. It took lots of time before I actually felt close to him. Becky was out of the house before we got to fight much but we were distant for a long time.
Happy Birthday, Valerie! How in the world do you keep up with all the birthdays in your family, Jacquie??? haha!!! :)
What a sweet testimony to your friendship. Good friends are the best! blessings, marlene
Just wanted to say Happy Birthday to Valerie! What great photos you have to share.
I love hearing all your stories about your family, Jacquie! Steve's sister used to pull out her lethal fingernails, too. haha
That's just what happens in big families sometimes (he's one of 5...not nearly as big as yours!)
But I'm glad ya'll are close now. It usually turns out that way...fighting like cats and dogs while growing up, then loving and missing each other once you move away! :)
What a sweet tribute to your sister! Happy Birthday, Valerie! Wow - I can't imagine becoming a grandmother and a mother again in the same year!
As usual, I loved all the pictures of the "Goulet 11"!
Hope you have a Happy Mothers Day, Jacquie!
Hey Jacquie! How are you? Thanks for the comments on my blog. The floor is laminate. It was already in the house when we moved in. I really like it. My little girl could skate and ride a trike through the house and it wouldn't hurt the floor. It is so easy to keep clean.
