Busy, Busy

I haven’t blogged in forever.  Life just seems to whiz on by… here’s what I’ve been up to lately.

  • We’re preparing to start our 4th year of Awana at church in less than 2 weeks and there’s lots to get done!!
  • I’m training three nights a week and going to tennis lessons one night a week (and LOVING them!).
  • Laundry, dishes, grocery shopping, yada yada.
  • And in our spare time, we’ve been playing tennis, tennis and more tennis.
  • For those of you who don’t read my fitness journal, I’ve been struggling with a slow gain for the past several years.  At the first of this year, I decided to keep an online journal to try to motivate myself as well as have a place to hold myself accountable.  From the first of the year til my vacation at the end of May, I was down about 5 pounds.  When I got back from vacation, I had gained back those 5 pounds.  I decided I needed to do SOMETHING different.  So, I began to track my typical style of eating (mostly Body For Life) into Weight Watcher points.  The first week I lost 3.5 pounds.  I was amazed.  As of today, 11 weeks later, I’m down 13 pounds and back in the 120s.  Makes me happy.
  • Kale starts his last semester in college tomorrow.  It seems like just yesterday he left “the nest” and me in tears on the way home.  For those of you just dropping your child off at college… I can’t tell you enough how sweet these years have been in our relationship.  Having adult children is great!
  • Keeping caught up with “Big Brother”… who are y’all rootin’ for?

As you can see, not much to blog about… just living my every day life and staying busy.

Wow, you go girl! Losing 13 pounds is awesome. It is no small thing. When I lost the weight I needed to last year, I had kept a food log. It sure helped me. I am still using it now.

Becky said... have been busy!!! Makes me sweat just thinking about it!!! lol Good for you losing 13 pounds, bet I know where they are, yep....I'm toting them around for ya. Let me know when you are ready to have them back! lol

Congrats on the weight loss. I know that makes you a happy camper.

Sounds like you have been pretty busy. That does make it hard to blog.

I just started a running blog myself. I needed a way to keep track of my training.

Hi Jacquie, I've tried to tell my oldest daughter that same thing about adult children but since she just left her baby at college she can't hear me for the sobs. :) She'll learn I guess. blessings, marlene

Way to go Jacquie! And if I was there, I would SO be going to tennis lessons with you! :) I have gained five pounds in the last four weeks????? and the crazy thing is I'm working out more...I am hopeing by the time I do the half-marathon I will drop them but who knows. I just love eating too much. I come from a long line of people with a sweet tooth too. I miss your posts, but I've been so busy lately too that I've barely had time to keep up with everyone's anyway! Hey, Jacquie! I've missed your posts lately! Sounds like you have been really busy.

We're lovin' Big Brother right now b/c we're rootin for Jeff & Jordan. I can't help but hope they get married...they'd sure have cute kids!

I am so proud for you with that weight loss! I am about to get in gear and try to lose the rest of my "baby weight." :)
