I seem to love all things British.
If you knew me in high school, you knew that I was like any other teenage girl... I had school-girl crushes on celebrities. But, I was a little different. While all the other girls were hanging posters of whatever musicians and actors were popular at the time, I was hanging posters of Swedish tennis star, Bjorn Borg.
He was quite the looker and a trend/style-setter back in the day.
I was also the girl who watched the Royal Wedding all day long and taped it on my VCR and watched it over and over and over again (2/24/1981). I was just 17 years old.
Okay, I'll admit it ... I did the same thing when Diana died (8/31/1997). I was glued to the TV... and I was 33 years old!
Today was a fun day for me, because I absolutely LOVE tennis... and Wimbledon is my favorite.
I can't swing a tennis racket to save my life, but I love to watch tennis. I don't usually get to see the men's final (Breakfast at Wimbledon) because it's on Sunday mornings and I go to church... but today they had a rain delay and I got lucky! It was unbelievable! Some of the best tennis I've ever seen.
I was kinda rootin' for Federer to win. It would've been his 6th consecutive Wimbledon title (which would've beaten Borg's record. He's tied with him currently), but it wasn't to be. Nadal was too tough... and quite BUFF, I might add!
I took these "winning moment" pics of my TV screen (sad, I know).
I can't wait 'til next year. Tea and crumpets, anyone?
