I took Izzy to the park this morning to walk. It was a beautiful morning… and the temp was 73 degrees, but it was really humid. I had intentions of walking four miles, but by the end of the second lap, Izzy was getting tired. I let her rest in the shade for a few minutes and then started her on the third lap. After about a quarter of the lap, she flopped down in the middle of the trail…
I gave her a few minutes more to rest …
… and rest …
But by about the 3.75 mile mark, she dropped flat… her head on the ground and all. And she didn’t want to get up. I got a little nervous then, thinking I had pushed her too hard (even though she’s gone that far with me several times). So I picked up my 45 pound dog and carried her for a quarter of a lap and took her down to the creek and let her get in the water.
She drank and waded for a while and we headed for home. She’s been fine, but a little tired all day.
We may need to wait till it gets a few degrees cooler before trying to go that far again.

Cute pictures of her!
It has been really humid yesterday and today! :(
Cute pics of Izzy! I'm so ready to get rid of this humidity! Bring on the cool weather!
I'm so glad you're feeling enough better to walk that far but it's best to be very careful when the humidity is so high - it's hard to breathe! blessings, marlene
She is so cute. It was so humid here too. I hope the temps drop soon.
